Stone Barns represents many things to many visitors. Established more than ten years ago by David Rockefeller and his daughter Peggy Rockefeller Dulany, the goal was to preserve an abundant agricultural legacy and welcome the local community to the attributes farmers and farming practices bring to fruition. It is a place founded on the belief of building community, sharing ideas and improving the world.

Hardly a week goes by when I don't go there to talk and take walks, either alone or with family and friends. It's a great place to get back in touch with nature, walk, snowshoe, cross-country ski or buy fresh produce grown there.

In particular for me is the pleasure of Stone Barns in the spring and summer when its beauty is in full force. This is when I am transported to happy childhood memories of visiting farms. As a child, I remembered the scent of freshly mowed grass as well as the incredible vision of rows and rows of cornfields, barns horses and cows.
